About The Owner
Leigh Casino has been an avid animal-lover all of her life. As a little girl, she would take every opportunity to save injured wildlife, adopt any animal that needed help, and walk and play with neighborhood dogs.
When Leigh adopted her first dog she could tell the things that made her dog extra happy and made sure she was offered those opportunities. Her dog loved to learn and had extensive training.
After receiving her B.S degree in Medical Technology at Northern Illinois University, Leigh worked at Hines VA Hospital for a rewarding career taking care of our nation’s veterans. She then took positions at Abbott Laboratories and TAP Pharmaceuticals in Research and Development.
Leigh’s passion for dogs developed into part-time pet sitting which eventually led her into her own business. In 2003, Leigh and a business partner opened a new dog daycare center. The business grew, added overnight boarding, and provided many dogs with the happy play days they loved.
Over the years, Leigh has been the lucky guardian of 7 golden retrievers, one husky, and 2 horses. Her family is rounded out by her husband and two sons, all devoted animal-lovers and caretakers. Leigh founded Hightails Hideaway in June 2011.
Hightails Hideaway is a compilation of all Leigh’s experience and knowledge gained in customer care, dog language and behavior, and facility amenities. It is a place where dogs and their guardians can be themselves, be happy, have friends, and have FUN!
